A Former Pub In Hepburn Shire Turned Handmade Country Home

Once upon a time, Rosie Morley and Rob McNaught were driving past a derelict former pub in Victoria’s Hepburn Shire thinking, ‘Yikes, someone’s got their work cut out for them!’ Fast forward one year, and those someone(s) are them.

The now married couple have fully restored this previously uninhabitable property into a sophisticated, contemporary Victorian home. What’s even more remarkable – they did it entirely on their own! TOP effort.

FOOD'Rosy Posy' Smoothie - The Design Files | Australia's most popular design blog.

This smoothie recipe was such a fun one to create and name. It’s my take on the typical strawberry breakfast smoothie, but a slightly fancier version with the addition of rosewater and rose petals.

This smoothie is made with love, and I always like to make it for the special people in my life. Besides tasting delicious, Rosy Posy also has a great hit of natural antioxidants contained in the rose petals.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)

1⁄2 cup cashew nuts, soaked for 2 hours or overnight, then rinsed

1 tsp rosewater

1⁄2 vanilla pod, split and seeds scraped

2 tablespoons raw honey

2 cups of almond milk

Edible rose petals, to serve

Method

Place the strawberries, cashews, rosewater, vanilla seeds, raw honey and almond milk in your blender and process until smooth (this will smell amazing!).

Pour into glasses and top with a few rose petals. A fun, girly creation!
