Celebrating The Winners Of The 2021 Telstra NATSIAA!

Now in its 38th year, the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) are considered the most exciting and prestigious art awards for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, bringing together entries from established and emerging artists, and reflecting the incredible variety of artwork being created by artists all over the country.

On Friday last week, seven artists were celebrated as the winners of this years Telstra NATSIAA across seven categories. All 65 finalists’ powerful works are now on display at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) – and while many of us can’t be there to see it in real life, you can take a virtual tour to see the work here!

7 Signs You’re Getting Healthier Even if You’re Not Losing Weight

It’s no secret that there are myriad ways to measure your overall health: strength, aerobic fitness, cholesterol levels, mood and, of course, the seductive shrinking of that number on the scale.

Billy Vanilli’s Decadent, Hyper-Real Paintings Look Good Enough To Eat

Through a year of isolating at home during the peak of the pandemic, Billy Vanilli – who trained as a photographer and graphic designer – began exploring oil painting. Creating hyper-real scenes of food kept him company throughout Melbourne’s lockdowns, whilst separated from friends and family.

From fresh produce draped in translucent materials, to baroque dinner parties set with cheeseburgers, fries and candelabras, Billy’s decadent, delectable scenery vibrate with colour, energy and flavour. Today we meet this promising young artist, in his Fitzroy studio.

Flinders and Surrounds with Eve Wilson

TDF’s beloved photographer Eve Wilson takes us on a tour of her home turf – Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula. Eve grew up in Flinders, and generously shares all of her local tip-offs, tinged with blackberry stained nostalgia of an idyllic coastal childhood. This tour of Flinders is dripping with cherries, strawberry ice-cream against the rugged cliffs, and tiny beaches overlooking Bass Strait.

Check out Eve’s full tour!
