A Monolithic Home To Match Its Sublime Location

The Elemental House by SSD Studio is a contemporary farmhouse in the Dooralong Valley of New South Wales.

See Inside Victoria’s Great Private Gardens + Art Collections, From Home!

GardensSee Inside Victoria’s Great Private Gardens + Art Collections, From Home!

In any other year, the NGV Women’s Association Garden Day would be held in person, with walking maps and refreshments provided. But this year – like everything else – the popular fundraising event is all taking place online!

At the NGVWA’s first-ever Virtual Garden Day next week, visitors will discover some of Victoria’s most splendid private oases. Working with the theme ‘Artists + Collectors’, the ticketed virtual event will explore the gardens of prominent artists and collectors via a guided tour with the owner, and even catch a glimpse of their spectacular art collections. Owners the likes of artist Bill Henson will discuss their favourite plants and spots to retreat to, as well as the parallel creative impulses behind landscape design and art creation or collection.

The video above made by our friends at SIRAP has some beautiful sneak peeks at some of the incredible garden tours on offer – sign us up!

Viewing of the online event will be available from 11am on Thursday, November 26th. Ticket bookings close at 2pm on Wednesday, November 25th. Book a ticket here.

Proceeds from the event support art acquisition at the NGV, travel grants for curators, and scholarships at the VCA.
